Samsung Galaxy S4 stock calendar app - set default notification type & time from phone? (Verizon)

I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 and utilize the stock Calendar app - here I integrate several shared Google calendars, personal Google calendars and some other calendars i.e. Facebook & Exchange account.

Can I set default notification time & type (email vs pop-up) from within this app across all calendars, individual calendars, or not at all? If I open Google Calendar on a PC, I know how to set default notifications on a per calendar basis, but cannot figure out how to do it within this Calendar app.

Thinking about this, I guess it makes sense to not be able to edit individual calendar's default notifications within this stock calendar app, as that setting should be inherent to each calendar's source (i.e. Google, exchange, fb). But, I would expect that this stock calendar app should allow for a global default reminder capable of overriding individual calendar's default notification settings. Anyone know if this is possible?

If you're having trouble syncing S4 calendars with your Google calendar on your PC do this:
Start calendar ap; press the left lower button; Select Calendars; select display; UNselect My calendars; UNselect My task; UNselect Samsung Calendars; UNselect Samsung task;
By getting rid of these accounts, when you add an event to the calendar, the phone uses the google account as a default.
It seems like the Samsung and My Calendars accounts are private only to the phone and do not sync externally.
