Default Please help - Blank USB storage message

    Hi guys

First post so hope someone can help!

My wife has a Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 running Android 4.1.2. Everything has been fine until a couple of weeks ago when a message popped up when the phone was turned on - 'Blank USB storage - USB storage is blank or has unsupported filesystem'.

She is now unable to view or indeed find any of the photos and videos that were on the device and when she tries to take a new photo, another error message pops up- 'turn off USB storage before using the camera'.

In Settings > Device Manager, it only shows 146mb of applications on the USB storage.

She recently purchased a HD card to give her more memory space but it also seems that this may not be working either?!

Any suggestions or help would be very welcome!

    Many thanks guys.

Sounds like the USB is "mounted"
For example when you plug any phone into a computer, you cannot view your photos or videos from the phone.
Im not sure how it got stuck in this mode. It could be a device malfunction.

Try connecting it to a computer and see if you can view any files on the phone.
Then disconnect and wait for it to re-mount SD card.

    Hi

Thanks very much for your suggestion and apologies for the delay in posting.

I have connected the device to a PC - this brings up -

Card 7.13gb free of 7.27gb and the only folder is a Lost.Dir one

Phone -104857600 bytes free of -104857600

When I tried to import any photos or videos it came up with a message to say there were none found on the device.

Any further help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Thanks again.

Not a good sign. It means the internal "SD card" has become corrupt or not readable. If your computer cannot read it and the phone cannot read it, its a lost cause. Phone is toast

Try one more thing. Make sure that USB Storage (on the phone) is turned off. USB storage on allows the computer to read the card. Turning it off allows the phone to read it.

Pull down your notification bar. See if there's a USB connected item. If there is, click it.

    Hello Everyone!
I am also suffering with the same issue.
Due to Virus I was formatting my phone via CMD but due to some interruption formatting was not completed so now I am getting the notification " Blank USB Storage". Even When I am connecting the phone to Laptop it's showing the removable disc J ,K and while clicking on that giving the instructions to to "Insert the Disk".
Please redirect to the solution. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Btw I have Micromax A 67.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Harsh Thakur.

    1) Have you tried formatting the SD card again?

    2) What brand is the SD card?

(If it's the internal storage of the phone that's unformatted, it needs to go either to a good repair shop or the manufacturer.)
