Exchange ActiveSynch for Hotmail on Droid Incredible

I have a Droid Incredible and my wife has a Droid 2. On the Droid 2 I can setup the Exchange Active Synch to connect to her hotmail account, but I can't get it to work on the Incredible (howeverI can get the pop3/imap option to work). Both phones run Froyo 2.2. Any idea how to get Exchange ActiveSynch to work with hotmail on the Incredible?

What exactly happens (or doesn't) when you try? Do you get any errors?

Yeah, I get a failed to create account error. From what I understand the HTC mail client doesn't support all of the Exchange standards, which is why you can't establish an Exchange ActiveSynch connection with Hotmail.

I did find the following post very helpful though. It's a different mail client than the HTC client and it does what I need. The only real drawback to this mail client is that doesn't display HTML emails.

Thanks for the link. My wife has the Motorola Droid and Exchange ActiveSynch works just fine for Hotmail on her phone. She actually has the Droid 2 and didn't have to use that backslash to get things setup.

I had a similar experience and was not able to get Exchange Hotmail sync working on the Droid Incredible 1. It seemed to me that HTC's exchange email setup would not let you leave the Domain field blank which is required by hotmail - Hotmail now supports push email, calendar, and contacts with Exchange ActiveSync.
