Hello,
to all of you.
I have Samsung GT-P6800, that is 7.7 tab, actually, some days ago, it has developed the bootloop problem, I decided to load custom recovery and take the backup of the data, because I can't able to lose the data as the data is very much important that is stored on the tab, but when I load the Odin V3.70 & V1.85 and in the PDA section I load the .tar file of TWRP 2.6.3.0 recovery, and flash then I got the success & pass message in the Odin, but when I restart the tab in the recovery mode, I again go in to the Default stock recovery that is e3 Android System Recovery, I don't know why this is happening, as I have tried many versions of Odin as well as twrp and cwm recovery, but whenever I go in the recovery mode, I found the stock recovery loading(e3).Please help.Hope to see some solution soon.
Thank You.

Are you rooted/bootloader unlocked? You'll need to have both in order to get a custom recovery installed and ready for use. Otherwise, you won't be able to write to the necessary partitions to change the recovery.

Samsung also has an exploit that reverts custom recoveries back to stock.
I am more familiar with CWM, but when you reboot the system in recovery, does it ask if you want to fix root?

Hello,
Thank You very much for the reply, actually, my tab has developed a bootloop problem, whenever I start a tab it restarts in some seconds, and do this in a loop until the battery dies, actually, I have very much important data stored on the tablet that can be life saving for someone(in the form of memos, videos etc.), thats why I can't lose the data by using the option of factory reset in the stock recovery, actually I asked about this matter on some other forum, from there some user told me to load custom recovery and do the backup and then restore the backup.
Although my tablet can start in the safe mode but in that mode, also the tablet restarts after 5 minutes, and I can also connect tablet to the computer in safe mode and there it shows the tablet.

Firstly, I give you mine tablet details : its an Indian version

SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 7.7
MODEL NO.GT-P6800
ANDROID VERSION : 3.2
BASEBAND VERSION P6800DDKL4
KERNEL VERSION : 2.6.35-P6800DDKL4-CL605129
root@DELL141 #3 SMP PREEMPT Fri Dec 16
Build Number : HTTJ85B P6800DDKL4

and mine tablet is not rooted, I also dont know the bootloader of the tablet is rooted or not.

And also on entering the recovery mode, it doesnt ask about to fix the root and it shows some commands as undermentioned :

#MANUAL MODE#
--Updating application...
Copying sdcard.
Successfully updated application.
-- Applying Multi-CSC...
Installing Multi-CSC...
Copied the Packages.
Copied the power on/off animation files.
Applied the CSC-code 'INU'
Successfully applied multi-CSC.

after that the same Android system Recovery <e3> appears with the options
Volume Up/down to move highlight;
power button to select.

reboot system now
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
test redbend fota[FS]

On updating the recovery through the desktop Odin I got a message like this:

<ID:0/004> Added!!

So, this is all. I am very much worried, because time is passing and as I've told you I really have very important data on this tab. Now, I want to recover the data and make tablet running again as soon as possible.Hope to see some reply soon.
Thank You.

When you start in safe mode, might it be long enough to pull the files to a PC?

Hello,
Thank you for this reply and information, actually, I think my tab is not rooted and its bootloader is not unlocked, that's why I am unable to install custom recovery, anyways, as I above described the whole case, what would you recommend? Can you tell me some way by which I can root and unlocked the device? Hope to see reply soon.
Thank You.

The only for thing I can think that of now is to reflash a stock ROM via Odin. However, while in theory your files should be safe, I have had times where I lost files in reflashing stock ROMs. Your need to retain those files, while I understand is important, is what is refraining me from many suggestions.

You shouldn't need to change anything.
Md5 file goes in the PDA box and click start.

Now perhaps a factory reset in recovery?

Sir,
Can I try to install some upgraded version of Android to the tab? means this tab runs on Honeycomb V3.2 and so If I try official Ice Cream Sandwich to this, maybe this solve the problem? What you say? and also Sir, You are great, you are taking lot of pain, actually, as you know I have very important data on this tab, otherwise I'll definitely reset this tab, but, on xda forum I have read a post, in which a user wrote that even after a factory reset of the tab of same model, the tab is still in bootloop.Anyways,Thank You.

As far as I know, you normally don't want to flash a stock ROM of a different region on your device. However, offhand, I can't really think of anything else to suggest either.

Hello,
to all of you.
I want to share some details with you, that I have found during the usage of tab, actually, the space of internal storage on tab is very low, so when I start my tab in safe mode and I uninstalled some heavy applications from the tab to free some space on the tab, on that time it started showing the free space but when it restarts again the uninstalled app come down and also the no same amount of free space is present that was before uninstalling the tab, same thing happens when I connect my tab with the computer during the safe although I got only very less time to do any task, but If I delete some program or some data from the tabs internal memory, on that time the memory shows free, but after restart the deleted data/app again comes and free space is again filled up.Actually, I am writing these details here because as suggested I dont want to factory reset/wipe data, so please I hope these things that I have observed help to understand the matter more clearly, I want to ask one more things, Is there some way by which I can repair the internal partitions of the android when it connects to the computer? or some other method? Hope to see some reply soon.Thank You.
