How to use a Front Facing Camera

I have rooted my Kindle Fire HD which you probably know only has a front facing camera. I would like to use it to take photos of items I am selling on eBay. Does anyone have any tricks/tips I can use to do this because with front facing you can't see what sort of picture you are taking.

Another tab/phone or even a cheap camera would be a better solution, but how about a mirror? I got a few decent self-portraits using a large mirror when I had a phone with only 1 camera. (Seriously, though - a camera that's better quality than the one in your phone probably retails for about $39, if you stay away from all the fancy features you really don't need, like wifi upload.)
