contacts & calendar question

Here is a question probably not asked before and therefore a chance for an app developer to help out.
The other half is a hairdresser and wants to put in her calendar actual contacts, so for example, tomorrow she needs to book in Mrs Joe bloggs at 2:30 for a colour and cut. She wants to be able to put in the diary what she is going to do and also a link to the contact so if she is running late she can look to see who is next, click on the name/contact in the diary and have the choice to call, text or email the client, also she will be able to see what that client is having done. Does this make sense? Is there an app?? Can a developer make one? I think if there is not one, this could be really big. Especially with professional people. They can see what's on for the day, click and email to confirm things or friends can text or call to say they are on their way to a gathering that's in the diary.
