    Hi All,

Here's my dilemma. My LG Optimus has pretty much bitten the dust. My roomate just gave me a another one that I'm planning on dropping my SIM card under my carrier. I was planning on rooting my original phone, but was wondering if there would be any issues if I were to do that, THEN swap SIM cards to the SAME phone? Is it a different ordeal overall? Considering both phones are identical? Please Respond!

why would you root your original phone if its pretty much done for?

Since both phones are identical the procedure would be the same.

Rooting has to do with the operating system. The SIM card has to do with the phone network. As long as both phones are on the same carrier, you'll have no problem whether you root neither, one, the other or both. (If they're locked to different carriers, you'll have to have the new one unlocked.)
