Skype icon does nothing

I have installed Skype lots of times now, but when I press the Skype icon nothing happens.
I recently did a factory reset, it has failed many times since. Previously it was fine.

I have tried all possible buttons including "open" in Google Play, moved the shortcut etc.

Did it ever work on your device? If not, send an email to the developers and ask if there's some compatibility issue.

Yes it worked pre reset

Why did you do the factory reset? Were there other issues going on? Did you do a system update?

My phone was constantly saying no more storage space and I could not uninstall the bulk of it.
I didn't do a system update, I just followed an instructable to do a factory reset?

Wish I could give you more help. The only thing I can suggest is to try another factory reset.
