Hi there, I'm getting a summer job and I was trying to find the best no-contract cheap monthly cost Android smartphone I can get. I want to play games like GTA:SA, Modern Combat, Asphalt, Real Racing etc. smoothly. I want lots of storage as these games are usually a couple of gigs. Any suggestions?

Of those two phones, I'd get the Moto X. Or if you're looking for cheap, get the Nexus 5 or One Plus One. It depends on your carrier, though. I definitely wouldn't get the S3 at this stage in the game. Much better options available.

Well the processor and GPU are better on the Moto X.

The screen is .1" larger on the S3 and the device is substantially larger.

Both are 720p screens, the battery life is substantially better on the Moto X however the S3 you can buy multiple batteries and swap them out.

The X has twice as much RAM, more up to date software and TRIM functionality built into it.

The X will also be software supported for much longer.

In this case, if they're both the same price, the X is a much better buy, IMO.

The other devices in a similar price range are the LG G2 and the Nexus 5. Both have their own merits, although battery life is a concern on the Nexus 5.

Look for one of Motorlas sales if you can - they recently had the Moto X 16 GB for $299 and 32 GB for $325. I would not buy the S3 as it is over 2 years old and probably won't be updated too much going forward. Watch out for the Moto X camera - it isn't the best. Most people love the X because of its smaller size and excellent in hand feel. The Nexus 5 has a lot of love because of fast updates but does have issues for some people with battery life. It has the same tech as the awesome screen on the G2. You might be able to pick up an S4 for a discount now that the S5 is out - I'm not a Samsung fan because the phone and data reception on my S3 wasn't very good (dropped calls and slower speed on LTE). It was still early in the LTE SOCs so the battery life is only adequate (although replaceable and with micro SD). I would definitely not get anything older than a year if you plan to keep it for very long. Depending on the carrier a Moto G 16 GB might be an excellent pickup at $149-179.

Okay, I have concluded that I'm down to the Moto X, Nexus 5, or LG G2? Which one out of those? Consider phone plans as well please, thank you.

Moto X of the three choices. Very close second is the N5.
