Going to Italy... any short term SIM cards available?

So i am going to Italy for 1.5 weeks...

I am going to bring my unlocked device there and was wondering if there was a carrier or service that I can get a short term SIM card from with Voice and Data..

i know vodaphone wind etc exist, but i hear people paying like $X for a certain amount of time instead of topping up everytime on a PAYG

You want a new number for 1,5 week?

Instead I would 1) uncheck 'roaming' (in Settings), and only email, browse, chat (not SMS!), and make VoIP calls, etc., when I'm in WiFi range. There are hundreds of thousands if not millions of WiFi hotspots in Europe.

yah.. when i travel to Korea or Indonesia i can get a number/sim card for a week or a month..

was wondering if there was the same type of thing in Europe..
