Is it possible to purchase a phone without 4G/LTE (for development purchases only)?

AC Question

Hi,

I'm working for a company that develops Android Apps and I was wondering if there are any retailers that sell Android phones without 4G/LTE, but have every other capability? Are these called unlocked phones? because they seem to be wayyy expensive?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Do you mean a phone that doesn't have 4G/LTE radios or one that doesn't require the purchase of a 4G/LTE plan?
You can do either, but like you said, the latter is expensive if you are buying a high end phone.

The Nexus line of phones is usually considered the standard for developer phones. Also, feature per feature they weigh in at less $$$ than almost any device in their CPU class.

If a Nexus 5 is too much there are plenty of used Nexus 4's out there that are still at the highest Android version available today.

The first generation Moto G didn't have 4G, but is otherwise an excellent phone, from all reports.
