Default Kitkat Update now shows Google now shows search bar on homescreen

My 10.1 was updated today to Kitkat 4.2.2. The update went fine, but noticed that a google now search bar is located on the top right side of my homescreen. The bar itself is about 1/5 of the width of the screen, not expandable and I am not able to move it or delete it. I am trying to remove this from my homescreen. Any advice?

Loading a different launcher will give you the ability to remove it.
