Is the actual facebook app needed for other apps to sync to facebook?

The title basically says it all. I am so much happier using the browser/web version on my phone and just creating a shortcut to that version instead. Its alot smaller and wont force you to install yet another app called facebook messenger in order to see, let alone reply to inbox messages. I never use chat on facebook and have zero desire to download a second app to make facebook work.

just wondering if anyone else has had any experience before?

Also, the web version remembers your "most recent/top stories" choice.

If its truly not needed at all im considering just ditching it altogether saving myself the internal memory and some sanity at the same time lol.

well, basically just playing games like candy crush, etc. want to sync to your facebook so you can be on the same level in both places.

if those kinds of things still work without the actual app, i wont really need it for anything.
