Default How to turn off network and still use the HTC Evo device?

So far, I don't know how to turn off the mobile network on the HTC Evo device and can still use the device for other purpose like camcorder, music.

In my old Palm, I can turn off the device and still access other apps. It seems like you can only turn the Evo phone completely off or completely on?

Am I correct? Thanks for help.

But I think that disables bluetooth functionality as well. I noticed this on a recent flight when I tried to listen to music with my stereo bluetooth headset. Any work-around for this?

You can turn blutetooth back on after you turn on airplane mode. Use a settings widget for easy access.
