Why does Google play say You don't have any devices?

Google play says "You don't have any devices"

But I do.

Up till today the system would tell me whether or not a chosen application was compatible with my device.

I have recently uninstalled several applications which I didn't use.

There are many things in the list of applications which have cryptic names (a stupid idea) and I might have uninstalled something upon which the system relies.

Can anyone suggest how I can get the system to recognise my device?

Which device do you have, and is it rooted? If you're unrooted, it's unlikely that you could uninstall a system app that was important for normal functioning.

The 'phone details are:
Vodafone 785 (Android)
Software version 4.2.2
Baseband version MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V1.P4
Kernel version 3.4.5
Build number Jelly Bean
Software information 120HEG1

No, it isn't "rooted".

Ok, go to Settings>Accounts. Is there a Google account listed there? Tap it, and make sure the email address for the account is correct. If it is, and the phone still doesn't register with Google Play, try removing your Google account, then adding it back again.

Yes, the account email address is correct. I don't see how to to remove it.

Edit, a couple of minutes later.

Strange, looking in my wishlist again, the system is now telling me that "This app is compatible with your device."

I wonder how/why that happened?
