Why can't I move files or folders from the internal memory to SD card on my Discovery V5?

I have a Discovery V5 and I recently noticed it was very slow and I couldn't use any app. I keep getting these messages telling me that the phone storage is full so I tried moving apps from the internal memory to SD card and I succeeded but I can not move files or folders. Has this happened to you?. I'd really appreciate it if you could help me here.
