How do I recover encrypted photos?

Recovering Encrypted Photos!

I have a Galaxy S4 with SD card; both have mandatory encryption (work phone). Not thinking, I took out the SD card and transferred the pictures to my external HDD, but obviously when I went to view them on my laptop, I could not open them, because they were encrypted, and the encryption key lies on the phone/SD card. So, I tried transferring the photos back to the phone/SD card, hoping it would decrypt them, but apparent it has not. PLEASE tell me I haven't destroyed my photos!

Try downloading and installing the Kies desktop to your computer and see if you can use that to decrypt the photos. Let us know how it goes.

If you can see the photos on the phone, is it possible to upload them to a cloud service or even email them to yourself as jpegs? Just a guess, but that may decrypt as part of the upload process.
