Privacy attack when downloading

Whenever I try to download an app. or update an existing app. a screen pops up asking to share my contacts, location, files, photos, wi-fi information, device ID, etc. It will not let me go past that screen unless I accept.....Is this normal? Is there a way around this?

Re: Privacy attack when downloading

Welcome to Android Central! Those are permissions. Many apps on every platform (including iOS and Windows Phone) need permissions of some sort. The more an app deals with various information on your phone, the more permissions it needs. Android is upfront with you about what permissions an app requires before you accept the installation or update.
