Hi! Thanks for your help. I finally unlocked my phone. When I turned on the anti theft it asked me to add emergency contacts.
There are three commands that you can send to your phone (from your emergency contacts cell phones). One of the commands sends you back a new privacy protection password to unlock your phone. In my case the command was #mima# (with hashtags). I sent that word from my husband's phone and I received a message with a new code to unlock my cell phone. Once I did, I obviously changed the code and also you can turn the anti theft off so you dont have the problem any more.
Good luck!
same problem with my "micromax canvas xpress 4g"
i registered my father's mobile number in anti-theft and forgot my pin......
My father received a message that your phone has stolen.....
I just replied to that message "#password#" (without quotes)
within few seconds I received a message containing a pin....
i just entered that pin and unlocked my phone....
It worked in my "Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G"
i changed the sim card of my phone and after rebooting the device, it shows a lock page saying " please enter privacy protection password to unlock". this page don't have Google log in method even.
please help me out....
Sounds like the SIM card is password (PIN, rather... SIM cards aren't usually that smart) protected. Is the message appearing after the OS boots or before it does? If it's before, most likely your phone is not unlocked for other carrier's SIMs and you're trying to use one of those. If the prompt appears after the OS loads but before you can get into the phone, it's the SIM. Try removing the SIM and booting up without it. If the prompt goes away, there's a PIN protection on the card.
