What is the best text editing and file management app?

Best text editing and file management

Is there a better OS that supports ease of TEXT EDITING? So far all I have been able to make use of is <- (backspace) button and tapping where I want to either insert or change text ONE character at a time. It would seem like being able to 'highlight' then copy/cut/paste would be a basic option but I've never found a way to do that.

Granted I am still using my Nexus 7 (2013) to good effect but unless this has improved on subsequent OSs, why change/update? Just looking for some insight - thanks.

Most, if not all, Android text editors, browsers, email clients, etc already have the highlight/copy/paste you are asking for. The user manual gives instructions including an illustration.
