Will Gingerbread Eliminate Rejected SMS problem?

Does anyone here know if Gingerbread will eliminate the dreaded (and ridiculous) rejected SMS problem when internal memory is running low?

I find it ridiculous that just because the phone gets below 20MB of internal storage that it can't accept a 20K SMS message! I've missed way to many texts on my Nexus One because of this "feature".

Also, does the latest Cyanogen rom eliminate this problem as well?
