Getting YouMail to work on Verizon with a Droid X

Greetings, I am a new Droid X owner on Verizon and I am trying to configure YouMail. Unfortunately, when I dial the number to set up call forwarding to YouMail it says, "Welcome to Verizon Wireless. Your call cannot be completed as dialed."

Has anyone experienced this issue, and is there a resolution for it? Because otherwise, it looks like my choices are:

1. Basic voicemail
2. Verizon Visual Voicemail for an extra 4 bucks a month.

I initially signed up with VZW's VVM and took it off my account, thinking that YouMail would work.

Well, surprise, it doesn't. It worked flawlessly on my BlackBerry with TMO for several years.

Any help is appreciated. I have looked for answers to this but am coming up with nothing.

Update: I gave up on YouMail but got Google Voice to work. Still trying to figure out why Google Voice keeps saying Call Settings > Reading Settings and never finishes. It just keeps spinning around.

I tried killing the process through Advanced Task Killer but it didn't work.

Oh well, maybe rebooting the phone will work.

I was having same issues this morning with Youmail.

I then went to the website and physically called the number instead of letting the app do it..... it worked perfectly.

I tried calling the number manually and got the same error. But GV is working now, so I guess I am set. Thx.
