Override stock lock screen

Required to use an email client that requires lock screen.
Is there a way to download third party lock screen app while overriding stock lock screen app I don't have to unlock two screens. Every time I install third party app it makes me unlock that screen and the stock screen as well.

Also, would using a launcher fix this?

Hmm...

I'm using Microsoft's Garage NEXT lockscreen and I don't have that issue...

Even when I choose to default to third party app and prompted to use once or every time, I still have to unlock both screens. Is this because I'm using touch wiz? And would a different launcher fix this?
