why won't my play store on my samsung galaxy prevail work,everytime i click on it it says:

it was working working a few hours ago and then all of a sudden started to say this everytime i click on it.

You've omitted what it says.

However, try Settings, Apps, All, swipe to Google Play Store, and select Clear Cache. Then Power Off and Restart the phone.

At very worst, go to Area51 Forum and see if anyone has the stock ROM for it, then reflash the ROM. (Save everything first - see Backing up an Android Device - because flashing a ROM gives you an out-of-the-box phone). I'm sure they have Area51 ROMs for the provail, and I think there was a Cyanogen 7 for it, but someone there may have a stock ROM if you prefer that. (See [Samsung] How to flash Stock ROM via ODIN if you're flashing a ROM that's different than their standard ones - they have instructions in the first post of the thread for a ROM, and you don't flash theirs the same way.)
