Chrome keeps trying to download PDFs with a program that can't
Whenever chrome or the default browser on my android device (running lollipop, but this problem was around when I was using kit-kat) tries to download an application/pdf, instead of downloading it, it opens up FBReader - which is my epub reader. FBReader then throws an error because it doesn't know how to handle downloading http attachments, clearly.
This isn't an application defaults error, because resetting chrome and FBReader's defaults does not change this behaviour. Neither is this application specific, since it affects both chrome and the default browser (ASUS Browser). Somewhere, I suspect, android is has some inaccessible global settings file that takes intentions to download http attachments with specific mime types and associates them with default applications. What's going on and how can I fix this so I can download PDFs?
I have root, so if I need to break things I can.
