Why does my phone say Service disabled?

why does my phone say Service disabled?

Bought the phone brand new a couple of weeks ago and set up ok when I first inserted my SIM, but after an hour or so, the message "service disabled" appears on the screen and I cannot make or receive calls etc. Any help would be appreciated

Have you asked your carrier to test the SIM?
