AC Question

I do NOT want my android to perform system updates, how do I stop it.

My Android has been trying to update since May. I have filled up my phones memory with random pictures and music so there is no room for the update to happen. But I want to find out how to keep my phone from notifying me ''Please make room for system update''

Please do not try to convince me to just give in and update. I just want to know how to remove the reminder and keep from my phone from ever updating or even trying to update in the future.

My phone is not rooted.
Its trying to do the Android 5.0 lollipop update.

Re: I do NOT want my android to perform system updates, how do I stop it.

Welcome to AC.

The notification for the Lollipop update has stood in the notification bar of my Nexus 4 for months. I have nothing against Lollipop, which is running in my other Androids, but I'd like to keep Kitkat on one device. You don't have to download. At least, on an unlocked device you don't....it may be different on certain carrier-locked devices. Is that what you are using?

To get rid of the notice, the phone has to be rooted. Find the updater app and disable or freeze it.
