How do I send a group email in the Gmail app?

Is there anyway to send out a group email through Gmail on your phone? I've been using the app Contacts Group U to do this but it would be nice to do it straight through Gmail.

From what I read, this is not a feature of gmail. Im really surprised. Hope they add this.

It should be much easier to do, but yes, there is a way.

Instead of opening your Gmail app, go to 'People' and find your group in there. From there, you can send a message to your group using Gmail.

Have also found it very challenging that can't easily email groups from the Gmail mobile e-mail app, as you can from the Gmail web version.

1. Go to your People app,
2. then go to Groups (on mine, this is an icon on the bottom),
3. then select the group that you want to email,
4. then choose Send Group Email.

Would be great if within the Gmail mobile e-mail app there was an easy way to email to groups, the same way you can in the browser Gmail version. Can't believe that Google hasn't added this.
