Broken touch screen Droid Eris- how do I factory reset before sending it in?

I have an insurance replacement coming tomorrow, but I'd like to be able to wipe everything before sending my broken one back. Is there a way to do it when you can't access anything? Is there a secret button behind the battery or something?

I think the best way would be to run the RUU and get it to restore back. I don't know that you need to accept anything from the phone, everything might be from the Computer.

You need a PC and once downloaded, plug the phone into the computer and run the .exe program. Hope this helps

Agree with RUU, it shouldn't need any input from the phone itself.
