How can I manually lock my screen?

Manually locking my screen

I want to be able to manually lock my screen here's my situation. Sitting at my desk at work I keep the screen dark, but I don't have it locked. I don't need to I'm at my desk this way I can touch the power button on my phone comes to life and is not locked. However if I get up to go to the bathroom or something else, I want to be able to touch a button and lock the screen. Then when I'm back at my desk I can unlock it and I'm good to go. Or, if I get up lock it and stick it in my pocket it won't become unlocked and I won't randomly push buttons.

Welcome to Android Central! There are a number of apps that can do this. I like Power Toggles, because it's so versatile. It has a Lock toggle that you can tap on the screen.

Also try "Screen Off and Lock". Using Nova Launcher I have it set to turn off and lock the screen when I swipe up.
