Music player app won't work, how can I fix it?

Music player app wont work

I downloaded a song from a free site but when I try opening the download it tells me to install androids download manager and music player. I've done both and the download manager works but when I try to open the music player after installing it takes me to my google settings. Please help!! I'm technologically illiterate and have not ideal what to do anymore

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have? From where did you download the music? "Free" music download sites are often shady, and you have to be careful about what files you download and open on your device. You shouldn't have to "install" Download Manager, because that's always a part of the Android system. Your device should also have a music app preinstalled. I am concerned you may have downloaded some kind of potentially malicious app.
