My 1st app: a scrollwheel with corresponding output

I am new to android programming and want to create my 1st app:
a scrollview with the countries and below an area in which the corresponding capital is displayed.

Technology wise it is similar to the "Easter Sunday Calculator

I tought the scrolling wheel would be a default thing but it isn't. Thanks for your help

is it possible to download an app and to customise it?

The title summarizes it:
I see an app in the app store with the same features (not goal!) as I want to use.
Is there a possibility to see the code and to use the code in my app?

The best bet would be to either email the developer and ask if they'd be willing to share the basis for the features you admire or to use Android's Developer guidelines to see if you can see the functionality there - and there are many tutorials there. I definitely would not recommend tearing down their app to plagiarize aspects of it as that opens the door for legal issues.
