phone turns its self off and on when connected to data of wifi, what's wrong and how do i fix it?

i believe my sim card is corrupted. My phone stated turning its self on and off until i took the sim card out. It returned to normal, but when i connected to my wifi it started doing it again.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? If it kept doing it after you took the SIM card out, then it's probably not the SIM card's fault.

Doesn't sound like a sim card issue if the problem persists when you connect to WiFi - do you have an older phone perhaps? my wifes Note 3 had taken some amount of abuse (she's clumsy) and her phone would turn on and off constantly as the battery was damaged and loose.
