Copying a file to my Android device changes the date

No matter which file manager I use, when I copy a file over its date changes to the current date. Is there any way to preserve the original date?

Where are you copying the photos to, and from where, or from where to where, or wherever they're going or coming from or to? LOL! PC, phone, SD card? Copying photos anywhere shouldn't change the EXIF data. The date the file was shot should remain intact. At least, this is how it should work!
