My S3 i9305 running KitKat has the Gmail app servicing two Gmail addresses and one hotmail one.
Until recently all was fine; finding a hotspot to download my messages via WiFi worked a treat!
I'm now occasionally using "Mobile Data" to collect new mail when not in range of a WiFi signal, and I feel as though I have "Whistling Jack Smith" tucked in my pocket!
The damned phone is downloading HUNDREDS of "unread" emails!!
This only happens on the hotmail account, and only when Mobile Data is enabled!
Most of these emails are from ME! with no content.
The only solution I have found is to disable mobile data completely, ....which rather chops my phone's usefullness off at the knees!
I don't even know who's fault this is!
