Can I use a 5V/5A smps for making 6 port mobile charger?

can i use a 5V/5A smps for making 6 port mobile charger

want to make a device to charge 6 phone together. is using one common power supply of 5V/6A ok?? will it damage the battery if only one phone is kept for charging ??
