how do i block a restricted call to my verizon samsung cell phone

five calls each day i answer and the caller (machine?) never replies for 4 months now

Welcome to Android Central! Do you get a lot of calls from Restricted Numbers? If not, then for the next couple of days, I would just not answer any Restricted Number call--let them go to voicemail. If it's some robo-caller or marketing call, it might automatically give up after a few days if it repeatedly goes to voicemail.
