Hotel wifi has messed up two Samsung phones, what is going on?

hotel wifi has messed up 2 samsungs...

Just logged onto hotel wifi in north thailand with a samsung E7 and galaxy S4. Within minutes my aol news stories were being redirected to some dodgey dialog box in thai language ending up with some B/S auto downloading to my S4. I did not click to add any of it.Result is my gallery has vanished and web pages keep freezing when i try to back page. The E7 also lost its gallery and wont open on FB or her trusted candy crush. Ive checked all apps and noticed all the ones i previously disabled have been enabled. I can see anything on there that looks newly added? Whats going on?

Welcome to Android Central! Are you certain that wi-fi network is the official wi-fi for the hotel? Check with the front desk. It's possible that someone else might have set up a wi-fi network that claims to be the hotel's, but isn't.

Forget the wi-fi network immediately, and reboot the phone. Do the problems persist?
