Alcatel Idol 4 (4.7) Vs. Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

Hello,
I would be very thankful for any advice.
I am looking for a new phone but having just graduated from University, I am somewhat on a budget.

I want something to keep up with:
-All the social apps- snapchat, whatsapp, instagram, facebook etc.
-GPS fitness apps such as 'MapMyRun'
-Would like a decent camera

Does anyone have any preference between the two phones or recommend anything better?

I can get the Alcatel Idol 3 (4.7) at £10 a month with 500 mins, 5000 texts, 1GB data
Or
Xperia M4 with 750 mins, 1000 texts, 1GB data for £12.50 a month

I have read the M4 only has 8GB of data, with only around 1GB that is still freed up.

I have trialed the Idol 3- it is a lovely and attractive phone, but I am concerned it is slightly laggy and slow when using apps. Also I couldn't figure out how to insert a new line in a text- is this possible Idol 3 users?
