I'm a newbie with a New Alcatel One Touch Pop Icon Contacts question

I do not have a people or contacts app on my phone. The only place I have found my contacts is in the Messaging app, and I can't seem to edit or do anything to contacts there. I have imported my contacts from my old LG on a SD card and it is currently installed in my Alcatel and showing up in messaging. I am just after the process of deleting or editing my contacts. And, why don't I have the people or contacts app. I am running android ver 4.4.2.

This is one of the Alcatel Onetouch Pop models :

They seem to call it the People app. Are you sure the icon is not on a folder of icons. Is it in the Settings - Apps list?

Sometimes if you find the Reset App Preferences setting, wipe the cache partition or just reboot, icons can magically reappear.

There are Alcatel forums under Other Android Phones.

Have a search for the manual for your model, but come back if no joy.
