Facebook app can't connect via mobile network on Nexus 4

Someone posed this same problem about 2 years ago, with no helpful response. So I'm resurrecting the question since it just started happening to me about a week ago.

App works fine over wifi, but says it is unable to connect when it tries to via my network. Tried a complete reinstall with same results. Every now and then I'll notice an update while out and about, so it must have some sort of connection at times, but never when I try to use it.
Facebook works fine when accessing it from Chrome, both wifi and mobile.

Everything else works fine over my data connection. Did my share of Googling, and found no solution. Help?

Does everything else work normally with mobile data? Are your mobile data speeds good, or are they really slow?

Hi! I have exactly the same problem. Mobile data works fine, Facebook works fine on browser and the Facebook app works fine only on Wi-Fi, but not works over mobile data. It's Nexus 4 too, with android 5.1.1.

Latest Facebook app update appears to have fixed it. Will update if the problems come back, thanks!
