Micro SD undetected because its defective

My drive for the sd card slot works because other micro sd cards are read with the adapter. The one I need help with is not detected & chkdsk reads as cannot open volume for direct access because it is not detected. Is there a way to access the files of an undeteced micro sd card without sending it out ? Or is this card useless ?

Probably defective or damaged.
You could try getting a micro SD card reader for your computer and try reading it or using a disk utility to recover the data.
