After Porting to New Phone and Service, Selling the Original Phone

So I had a CDMA Moto G phone with Virgin Mobile. Then I bought an unlocked GSM Moto G. I bought a T-Mobile SIM and ported my Virgin Mobile number to the new phone. The porting was done in a short period of time. From what I've read, the porting process will essentially close my Virgin account by default.

So my question is, what is the status of the CDMA Moto G as far as selling it? Being that Virgin is a pre-paid account, there is no balance. Is the phone ok for someone else to start up service with Virgin?

The best bet on this would be to ask Virgin directly.
