I barely got my phone wet and it's not working?

AC Question

Because my old phone had been extremely hardy, I never realized there was any harm in washing the outside of a case with water... while it's still on the phone. So I put my phone (an ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser) under the sink for probably less than 15 seconds and wiped it off. I then put in my pocket for a few minutes before trying to use it again. Because I didn't know that there was potential for water damage, I tried turning the screen on and then the phone on. After it didn't work, I realized what may have happened and I took out the battery, the SIM card, and the SD card to let them dry; however, my phone still won't turn out. Could I possibly have short-circuited my phone with so little water exposure? My phone is only a few months old, so I really hope not. Is there anything I can do?

Hello! Yes unfortunately you could have damaged your device. Put all parts in a bag of uncooked rice and leave it for a day or two. This can draw moisture out. Good luck!
