I have looked on lots of forums today to do this but I don't have any of the pop ups that are mentioned. All day trying to do this, my brain is fried

The easiest way is probably to plug the phone into a computer running your Dropbox account and drag & drop from Dropbox to the SD card (it's faster if the card is plugged into the computer than if you connect the phone to the computer).
