Why is my phone storage filled up with four songs when its 16 GB?

I have a samsung korean s5, it shows 16 GB internal memory, but when i put only four songs it says insuficient storage and even the camera also says so when i try to capture a photo. Sometimes even the galley says insert memory card but when there are some songs and photos in the internal memory. please help.

It's 16GB total internal storage, but about half of that is used for Android and the Linux kernel. The rest is partitioned into a few different partitions, and you can only store files (music, pictures, etc.) in the userdata partition. That partition may be only a couple of GB. That's why phones have slots for external SD cards - to store files.
