I'm not gonna search through thousands of posts but this is a simple question.

I just got my Android phone today.. an LG Optimus V.

In short, I figured out how to file share on my computer.

I added ringtones to my phone from my computer, figured out all I had to do was make a file on my SD card called "Ringtones".

For text tones I assumed All I had to do was make a folder called "Notification Ringtone" but no dice...

So to add Wallpaper backgrounds and text tones, what do I need to do?

On the SD card go media/audio/notifications
add them there
or also try on the Root level of the card try. System (not sys)>medis>audio>then place notifications or if ya want a new alarm noise, UI noise for say clicking something.

Download an app called Rings Extended. It will let you browse the sd card and set sounds you add to the sd card. There are other apps that do the same, just look at the similar apps when you search Rings Extended.

Notifications is what the folder needs to be named (ringtones are for calls, notifications are used by apps to alert you). You might want to also create Alarms and Music while you're at it.

"Text tones" are notifications.

Wallpapers can go wherever you want to put them.

On the SD card go media/audio/notifications
The specific location of the folders doesn't matter. The name does.
