How do I get past my screen lock when my keyboard app has crashed without losing all my data?

I have an LG Ultimate 2 and it keeps saying that my LG keyboard app has stopped working and I can't enter my password to get past my home screen. I tried removing the battery to reset the phone and the keyboard will pop up for me to enter my password to unencrypt it when restarting but after it starts up and get to the home screen the keyboard will not come up for me to enter my password! Please help I have to have this phone for work and I can't afford a new one right now and I don't want to lose all of my pictures etc.
