can't creat an event in calendar

Hello!

I just got the LG Optimus S. I'm trying to creat an event in the calendar. I open the calendar, select new event, but the I get the error message 'you have no calendars' and that is that. So... what do I do now? Not sure how to create calendars???

Have you added your Google account to your device yet?

Go out to Google on your computer. Make sure you have a calendar set up and associated with your Gmail account.

My gmail email is up and running on the phone. Not seeing the calendar on the phone. How do I link the calendar?

I tried going to settings, aacounts & sync, and click on my already linked gmail account. It gives me three options, all of which are synced, contacts, gmail and picasa. No calendar option.

I then go to Calendar, more, calendars, and it gives me a blank page with no options.

Can you go to your Calendar on the Google website (via computer)?

Yes, though not seeing on the google calendar website where I can link it to my phone.
