My O+ Phone got virus that I can't remove.

Help guys please. I got an O+ phone and It basically have many virus or malware on it. I can't stop it and it installed me an app called "vpn" (No caps and quotes.) which can't be deleted. Like the system apps that can't be deleted! When I try to delete it, it just shows app info without the uninstall button! It's also annoying because it spams me "Unfortunately, vpn has stopped". So then I looked on [settings > apps > downloaded] if it's there but it isn't! It also installs an app called "android wifi service". It can be deleted but it re-downloads again. Sometimes I also get a porn link on my home screen. (IDK if it's a porn link because there's no name like that on menu.) These viruses or malwares make my phone ALMOST uncontrollable! My phone is not rooted so I can't delete the vpn app. They also auto-download other apks so that I can install them and sometimes they force to install the apks they download without even installing them by me. If you need more information just ask me because I turned off my phone so that it can't auto-download apks or etc. Sorry if my english is a bit bad. Anyways thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Which OnePlus phone do you have? Did this occur after visiting a certain site, or after downloading or installing a certain app? Does it occur in Safe Mode? On most Android devices, while powered on, press and hold Power until the Power Off menu appears. Press and hold the Power Off selection until the Safe Mode prompt appears. Tap OK.

Welcome.

When you did the Factory Reset, did you untick/uncheck Auto Restore Apps?

If so, and you have tried the recommendations made above by B. Diddy, then the next step may be to reflash the stock ROM.

I'm sorry, I thought you were referring to OnePlus when you said O+. Didn't realize that's a separate company.

i have the same problem like mr. mayer. my oplu+evo 4g keeps dowlading app and it always show porn icon, and i tryd to reset and still the same. i cnt use my phone now. hope u could help me..... thanks....

Got one also. Formatted the phone and after restarting and connecting to wifi, the virus pops up again. have to change phone.

If a Factory Reset does not fix it, you could reflash the stock ROM.

Yehey! I was able to fix it. After repeated reboots and formatting, the only solution was installing Clean Master!

Now I'd remove Clean Master, because it's almost a virus itself. The faster solution would have been to reflash the stock ROM. (That's not much more time than reformatting.)

(BTW, "rebooting" simply means restarting Android - you do that every time you restart or turn the phone on after it's been off - it doesn't remove anything [unless it's badly damaged software-wise].)
